What is the difference between a solar panel and a solar power plant?

A solar panel is an element of a solar power plant that collects energy from the sun and produces electricity. However, in order to power your household appliances, it is necessary to install all other elements (eg inverter). Together they (solar panels and all other elements) form a solar power plant.

What is the approximate price of solar panels, i.e. solar power plants?

– the usable area of ​​the roof or other surface on which the power plant is installed, – the leased connection power of the meter (data can be obtained from HEP), – the planned annual consumption of electricity. Family houses most often install solar power plants with power from 4 to 15 kW… The price for each installed 1 kW is on average 700 – 1500 EUR (the final price is defined by the mentioned parameters).

When can I expect a return on investment?

Depending on the size of the solar power plant, a full return on investment can be expected in an average of 3 to 7 years.

What is the approximate profitability of solar power plants?

The total installed power of the solar power plant depends on: – the usable area of ​​the roof or other surface on which the power plant is installed, – the leased connection power of the meter (data can be obtained from HEP), – the planned annual consumption of electricity. Let’s take for example a solar power plant with a power of 100 kW. It can generate 120,000 kWh – 140,000 kWh per year. If the price of electricity is approximately 0.25 EUR/kWh – this means that the annual profit from the solar power plant amounts to 30,000-35,000 EUR.

How to get subsidies and incentives for solar panels and power plant?

In recent years, a number of public calls for co-financing the use of renewable energy sources in households have been published in the Republic of Croatia. Most of such tenders can be found on the pages of the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency and on the pages of the European Structural and Investment Funds.
